The Little Eris debut album, ‘Conception’ will be up for grabs next week, slightly delayed due to some last minute changes to one of the finest solo debut albums i’ve heard since Bjork’s ‘Debut’. More info to follow (and look out for the immense ‘Ice Power’ now added to the album).

This week’s FREE download from the Remix Lab was a tasty remix of Tittsworth’s ‘WTF’ by Berlin electro stomper DJ Wool… WE LOVE IT!

‘CHALLENGE FLAPSANDWICH’
every week we will ask people on Twitter what track they want us to send into the LAB for us to operate on… we select the most requested that day, and we have 12hours to Remix it. After 12 hours we have to upload the track no matter what state it is in!!!

This week i started and the most requested was ‘FUNKY TOWN’ by Lipps Inc.

After much sampling and choppin and fucking about I found myself strugglin to do anything tasty with the vocal… beggin the punters to send me accapella, but to no avail…. at that moment Doghouse turned up and i got him to quickly squawk the lyrics down a USB mic i had lying around… transforming my remix into what is now a Sicknote cover(!) I got the track up smack on 12hours after starting and although it’s an almighty mess and needs a lot of work to be anywhere near worthy of a release, the reaction was massive!!! Receiving hundreds of downloads and creating a hellova buzzzz in just a few hours.
Tommy decided to join in on the challenge and mashed up the original with The Special’s ‘Ghost Town’ to weird trippy but blissful effect!!! he did cheat a bit by taking longer than 12 hours… and posing with his mastering and graphic design the finished product is damn fine… BUT next week i will be ensuring TWELVE HOURS will be all he gets!!!!!!!!!

But with the huge PA hire costs and Easygroove and marketing costs we at TANTRUM were left with a Deficit of £400 that i need to find… OUCH!
used RENT money to cover it, but now can’t pay Rent!!! FOR SUCK SAKE!

Been a few offers of help from various people and have some kicking ideas in the bag, pus an offer from Regent Inns on the table, which i will fill you in on soon (could be HUGE).

I have no cash right now, and i’ve just realised i’ve missed my Tax Returns so there another £100 fine!!!

Think i need some lessons in money management… or on how to make enough money to live, or summink!

this decade… what the fuck have i been doing?
Just trying to jog my memory as i think the 90’s fried it:
So:

2000: Moved to Cardiff with Nikki, had bad break up.
2001: Started work for Scoot, squatting in Caerleon, Got caught drink driving, lost job and everything, fucked off abroad and stayed in Europe for 3/4 months. Came back and crashed in Nads’ house in Bristol and suffered the biggest mental collapse of my life.
2002: i move to Cardiff in January. Stay with Nikki’s parents initially and get into Foyer housing project later in the year. Have a massive operation on my jaw which effects me for years to come. Start relationship back up with Nikki which breaks down in November, when i start seeing Sara and move to Splott.
2003: Off to Africa for 10 weeks. Back, breakdown and off on another mission to Europe, Nicole comes back to live with me. Volunteer for fairbridge. Meet Iola and move to Ruby Street.
2004: Iola doesnt work out and im gutted. Running nights and DJing for Club Love. Walk the Camino de Santiago. Pissing it up. Getting well into making tunes.
2005: I meet Doghouse early this year and sicknote is born. Throw party called THe Crystal Ship in London. Move to Tantrum Towers in November.
2006: Cosmo and Tommy move in. I meet Maja.
2007: Meet Steve and we throw the humongous Blowout Festival. We run the Tantrum Allnighter which people love.
2008: Relationship breaks down with Maja. Sicknote have an amazing summer. Lost a lot of money promoting and trying to kick things off in various formats.
2009: Sicknote become the biggest band in the UK and the debut album goes fucking massive. Tantrum Records becomes the talk of the music industry with it’s farout ideas and forward thinking attitude.. always putting the punter first and profit last. Captures the nation. SubLive launches 5 successful venues in 1 year.

so we discover that the CD is DEAD…
and that the industry are scratching around trying to monetize the listening of music…
So we have a plan….

THE DEMONETIZING of the music industry….

Tantrum DJ Declared Dead…

Wez G (Wesley Gerrard) head honcho of Shuffle Promotions and house music DJ, due to play at The Phone in Sick Party on Sunday has been declared dead.

Wez phoned his doctors yesterday morning to pop down for a check up for a dodgy chest he was suffering from, after too many rollies and not enough excercise.

The receptionist said “I’m afraid you are not registered with us.”
Wez explained that he had been registered at the surgery all of his life. But he was told he couldn’t have an appointment as he was definitely not on the computer.
After much quibbling the receptionist said that she would look into it and get back to him.

Wez was baffled and in a great deal of pain…and unsure what to do.

Later that day a doctor phoned Wez and said,
“You are no longer registered at this surgery as you were declared dead on December 17th”

To which Wez replied, “I assure you I am alive!”

The police are at Wez’s as we speak, and he is offering them proof that he is in fact alive and well.!!!!

So, come and see the man himself, spinning his tripped out electro house this Sunday with all the rest of the madness that will be going on for the 3rd annual Phone In Sick Party…

Free MP3s helping the word spread? 1st results…

So, the fuck off Bush Party was a massive success… the Punters turned up in their hundreds!!!
Thanks to starting promo months in advance.. capitalizing on being the first gig back after chrimbo, and tying the gig in with the vibe of Now… the zeitgeist.
Kunt & The Gang managed to offend half the crowd and it was quite amusing to see a load of anarchists squirming at the guy talk about fingering his bumhole to Countdown. hhahahaha.

Got very pissed, now i lie in bed typing on my laptop with sever hangover///

So, We got our last.fm manager account back after the copyright dispute… and i was interested to see how the stats were for last week since we have made Sicknote’s MP3s free…
My theory seems to be correct, albeit early days yet… and here is the results after 10 days…
Here we go… this graph is UNIQUE LISTENERS of sicknote over the last 3 months…

So according to the graph we have constantly had under 20 unique listeners each week for the last three months, until last week when we set them FREE!!! Then we more than tripled our unique listners to over 60!!
it updates every monday, so we’ll keep an eye on it and se if we achieve exponential growth through the power of FREE!

After submitting to Last.FM our Tantrum manager account was suspended as you are not allowed to upload copywrighted material / remixes.
So, we are in discussions with Last.FM to get our manager account back and you’ll have to wait for Tommy’s debut, when we find elsewhere to host it! And its a fucking ellova album, 12 remixes and Mashups… you will love it!

Then, some good news for Cosmo!
65,000 downloads for his collaboration with me, ‘George Bush RIP‘!
It’s gone monumental! Making this Tantrum’s most downloaded song ever!
Also played on Adam Walton‘s show on Radio Wales last night and featured on loadsa blogs and Dandelion Radio loving it too!
With the Fuck Off George Party ready to kick off tomorrow @ The Globe! We scored a loada shoes that we are gonna dish out and let the punters LOB them at a Bush effigee that we have made!!!

Then been working on the PHONE in SICK PARTY for next Sunday… looking fucking good!
